I know of a fella who began work at IBM as a janitor. He retired from the engineering department very highly revered and respected, and holding a number of patents. He continues to work part time as a master technician for a high end audio dealer where he is considered a "genius". I suspect a lot of them were involved in the 60's space program. To get to the moon and back with 1960's tech is awesome in hindsight. Of course a lot of that 60's high tech is now today's tech. Anybody ever notice after giving up the space program our tech lead on the world slipped?

When I think about the technology we had back in 69 I have to wonder if we really did fake the apollo missions... Just sayin... I'm a firm believer in the lie.
I can't disagree more. Nations around the world tracked them to the moon and back...and monitored communications. Anyone who doubts we went around the moon just has no idea. Did we land? How do you explain the recent flyover by satellite showing the equipment left behind is still there?

Why haven't we been back to the moon?
Why don't we use the moon as a platform for equipment to monitor near and outer space, and other scientific studies?
You can fly a whole buncha Saturn V's for the cost of building just one space shuttle, if they really make it to the moon.
Lockheed YF-12(SR-71) pilots wore essentially the same suits as the '69 astronauts, the difference being their supplies were external and not made for ambulatory movement of the wearer. Crews could only remain at their max operational altitude for limited periods of time due to the solar radiation exposure from operating at the edge of space. Where's the radiation protection on the Apollo craft that allowed the astronauts to be completely outside the earth's atmosphere(ionosphere) for multiple days at a time?
And why won't the "experts" answer the above question?
Anybody remember what a whopping success Skylab wasn't?
And i know Skylab really went up and orbited since i was actually able to view it thru a telescope on multiple occasions.
FWIW, i don't necessarily believe the '69 landing was an elaborate hoax, maybe. But, i have some doubts about the official story as it's been given to us.

ON TOPIC, what where pin ball games like before flippers?
OFF TOPIC, no reason to go back to the moon with humans, since robots can do the job better and cheaper, and we have no way of staying there long term; there was some experiment a while back of a self contained colony enclosure on Earth somewhere in the US desert where they tried to produce their own food, water, and air. I can’t find the article, but they had to abandon it because the air became toxic after a very short time. I agree that they need to figure out how to live in a hostile environment closer to Earth than jumping out to Mars unless the only reason to go to Mars is to say we did it and then abandon the project because it costs too much or is too hard to do long term. It will be hundreds of years if not a thousand before we can colonize Mars.
Especially if we can’t RAISE taxes, pay OFF our dept (not just not adding to it) AND fund NASA to the tune of 10 times it’s current budget. Never mind the education crisis, the infrastructure crisis, and the job outsourcing/ insourcing war on the middle class crisis.

So what about the protection on the other capsules that stayed up for days? if you go there the whole program is a hoax. The Apollo suits were multiple layers, same principle as the old Israeli metal/plywood sandwich armor....the sum blocks much greater forces than individual components would.
BTW the SR71 suit was way less complex- David Clark S1030 full pressure suits. They weren't 'true" space suits.

Much if not most of the computer technology for the Apollo missions was built at IBM Owego, where my dad worked on semiconductor technology in its earliest days. One of the old pieces of junk he brought home from work was a black box with a pencil like probe hard wired to the box. The box had little metal electrodes embedded in the front of it, and when you touched one of the electrodes, a little LED bar lit up in the display. I wish I still had this device today, since this was one of the earliest 8 segment displays made. I still do have a couple of things from those days. One is a complete collection of Apollo mission patches which has an honored place on the mancave wall. The Apollo 1 mission patch is especially interesting since it has a yellow rim around it, and every other example of it I have been able to find is rimmed in black. The other thing I have is a piece of laboratory glassware that was used to grow the first gallium arsenide single crystal.
Back in the day Owego was a thriving vibrant little town. Today after IBM has pulled out and the Susquehanna produced a 500 yr flood, the town is a mere shadow of its former self, kinda like the space program....
